The route

Gokyo trades the EBC crowds for one of the most beautiful valleys in the Himalaya. Six turquoise lakes sit beside the Ngozumpa Glacier, with Gokyo Ri offering arguably the best Everest viewpoint on any trek. The summit-day from Gokyo Ri shows four 8,000ers (Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu) in one panorama.
