The route
Pikey Peak (4,065 m) is a viewpoint in lower Solu, reachable by road from Kathmandu. From the summit you see Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kangchenjunga and Cho Oyu in a single sweep. Edmund Hillary, who lived in Solu for decades, said it was his favourite Everest view. The trail passes Sherpa & Tamang villages, monasteries, and yak pastures — and is short, accessible, and avoids the Lukla flight entirely.
